For those who are concerned about any slight noise or vibrations from the metal cable ends that provide the durability of the cables. Some hear a slight vibration, others do not. This is a great solution to cover up any additional noise.

Cut the tube in a spiral so that you don’t need to use any zip ties to hold it on. One twist per foot will work just fine. It is also important that you reuse the rubber grommet that holds the cables in the firewall.
